Buchanan earns STEM Innovator certification

Jason Buchanan, Kenston Forest School Director of Technology, has become a STEM Innovator Certified Teacher. He successfully completed the STEM Innovator Teacher Certification from The University of Iowa. STEM Innovator engages students in solving authentic, community-driven, real-world problems by working in multidisciplinary teams. In addition, STEM Innovator certification means Kenston Forest School (KFS) may offer University of Iowa College of Engineering credit, ENGR:1450: STEM Innovation, to qualifying students. Buchanan is a graduate of Virginia Tech and Old Dominion University. He started teaching in 2005 and has been at KFS since 2016 teaching technology and robotics classes. He has played a major role in planning and building the new STEAM Lab at KFS and leading the KFS Robotics team. The team has been very successful in the VEX IQ competitions.
