Chargers to compete in cheer competitions

The varsity cheerleading teams for several area high schools will compete for a multi-class 2A state championship this season. With many schools not fielding competitive cheer teams, the setup for the competitions differ from the normal conference setups.

According to Virginia High School League information, 1A schools will advance through the 2A region competition and the groups will get together and  agree on the method of advancement.

2A East and 1A East schools will compete in the following alignment, as agreed upon by the two regions:

Goochland (2A)

Prince Edward (2A)

ARGS (1A)

Central-Lunenburg (1A)

Franklin (1A)

Windsor (1A)

West Point (1A)

Middlesex (1A)
