The Lunenburg Chamber of Commerce has begun a program where it names a “Business of the Month” winner and the group recently announced that Timmy’s Grocery was the second winner of this award.

Timmy’s is a longtime popular business in the county that has not only grown, but changed and adapted to stay a thriving location in Victoria. Clark recently added a fast-food area to the store and during that time he talked about how he “looks for the customers’ needs” and works to meet those needs. The business offers the normal gas station and convenience store items, but not many stores have built the reputation that goes with Timmy’s and the famous Timmy dogs served there.

While the store is certainly continuing to be a staple of the community, some of the patronage and goodwill that comes to Timmy’s Grocery also likely has to do with the community involvement of Timmy, his wife, Linda, and their children. Timmy and his family have been longtime supporters of local sports leagues, spending time coaching, offering sponsorships to the groups and serving in pivotal roles with the Dixie Youth and Babe Ruth baseball leagues. In addition to that, Timmy is a popular drag racer in the area and draws interest from many in the community who closely follow race nights in areas such as Dinwiddie.

Timmy’s also has a big following outside of the area. The business has sponsored the Bike to DC event for many years, where Clark offers not only a stop off location for the cyclists who ride for fallen law enforcement, but he freely gives out ice and other items.
