Autumn Days brings community involvement

The 35th annual Autumn Days event is finally here and will take place Saturday. I cannot wait to attend.

Just speaking with Lunenburg residents on a regular basis, I hear about the fun and excitement that Autumn Days has brought in the past.

I have been told about the cuteness of the pet parade — something I have never seen at a town event before. People have excitedly spoken about the lawn mower drag race and truck/tractor pull. Residents have shared their memories of the craft booths and yummy food that they purchased while at the event.

All of these aspects of Autumn Days make the Town of Victoria what it truly is — a magical place.

The volunteer hours spent planning the event show how hard-working the community is. The crowds of people drawn in each year displays community involvement and how the area comes together during this time of year. And, the pictures from previous years with smiling faces exhibit the fun and carefree attitudes that community members experience while at Autumn Days.

This is a feeling that I cannot wait to have on Saturday at the event — experiencing the community coming together while having some good ole’ fashion fun.

I encourage everyone in the community to come out to the event and take in all the fun. Take a walk around town and participate in some of the activities the Town of Victoria and its volunteers have worked hard to bring you. Take in the Southern-town culture as Lunenburg residents offer hospitality to anyone wanting to experience it.

Join the town on Saturday and see what the fuss is all about.
