Kenbridge Town Council is looking at making a change to the locality’s business license fee.

The town would not change the rate, but would add a processing or registration fee.

“Nobody wants to pay for something that has been free, but it’s reasonable to pay for cost,” Kenbridge Town Council member Cathy A. Gilley said.

Members mentioned the fee being $25 when the council discussed the issue last month.

The town attorney is looking at the proposed change in rate and will report back at the upcoming meeting.
