The public is encouraged to view the winning results of the Lunenburg County Historical Society’s annual photography contest, which will be on display at the two Lunenburg County libraries this month. The display is currently at the Victoria Public Library.

It will be moved to the Ripberger Library in Kenbridge later this month.

Winners in the color division were Michael Hurt (first place), David Rash (second place), Carole Wallace (third place) and Samantha Matthews (honorable mention). Bonnie Daniel (first place) and Callie Kunath (second place) were winners in the black and white division.

The entries were judged by professional photographers who took into consideration the historical relevance of the photos, as well as their quality, originality and creativity.

Now is the time to begin building a photography portfolio for the 2016 contest. Choose your most striking photograph taken within the twelve months ending Sept. 16 that best portrays the contest theme “Reflections of Lunenburg’s Yesterday.” Complete rules and applications for submissions can be found at the county libraries.
