Mattox honored for 32 years

Anita Mattox was honored on Sunday upon her retirement after 32 years as the secretary of Victoria Baptist Church. Everyone enjoyed a wonderful time of celebration during the worship service followed by lunch in the fellowship hall. On behalf of the church, Pastor Stanley Hare presented Mattox with a check and Deacon Chairman Eddie Jeter presented a plaque for her 32 years of dedicated service. She also received many cards, notes and gifts from church members. Pictured with Mattox, left, is her husband, Ronald, who has been her helper in many ways since his retirement. They plan to travel and spend more time with their family and seven grandchildren.
