Shula Hardy Spencer, daughter of the late Lander and Bessie Allen Hardy was born April 9, 1929 in Lunenburg County, Virginia.

She received her early education in the public school system of Lunenburg County, Virginia.

She was baptized into Tussekiah Baptist Church Lunenburg, Virginia. Shula served as Pianist and Clerk of the Church for many years until her health began to fail.

Shula was employed for many years at Craddock and Terry Shoe Factory in Victoria, Virginia.

Shula married Cary Spencer who preceded her in death.

She was called from labor to reward on Monday May 23, 2016 at Chippenham Medical Richmond, Virginia.

She leaves to Cherish: her children: Edward Jr. Spencer, Clarissa S. (Isaiah) Jones, Mark R. Spencer (Mary),  Herbert L. Spencer, Annie William Quiero (Avon); grandchildren, Priscilla J. James, Brian Spencer, Adam Spencer, Aaron Spencer, Cary S. Williams, Kevin Spencer, Sonya Spencer and Tara Jean Spencer, great-grandchildren, Elijah James and others, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Her service was held on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at Tussekiah Baptist Church in Lunenburg with interment in the church’s cemetery.
