DAR District meeting held

Members of 14 chapters of District III of the Virginia Daughters of the American Revolution met in Farmville, on July 30 at a planning meeting presided over by District Director Jane Snider.  Representing the local William Taylor Chapter were, from left, Diane Clark, of Victoria, chairman of the chapter’s American History Committee and DAR Essay Contest; Sheila Amos, of Victoria, District III Chaplain; Merny Erby, of Victoria, William Taylor Regent; and Anne Hamlett, of Victoria, the chapter’s Public Relations/Media/Press Book Chairman. The district voted to accept as its project for 2016-2019 to support the restoration of the “The Old Store,” an undertaking of the Anne Spencer Memorial Foundation in Lynchburg.
