Central 62, Cumberland 14 – Final

The Central High School varsity football team defeated host Cumberland High School 62-14 Friday night.

The win sends the Chargers into the postseason on a high note, finishing the regular season with an 8-2 record, an improvement on its 7-3 mark from 2015.

Central should find out over the weekend whether or not it has secured a first-round bye in the playoffs as a result of being one of the top four teams in Region 1A East. Entering this week, Central was ranked No. 4 in the region.
