The Kenston Forest School varsity football team entered the final game of its season Friday hoping for a victory to cap off a better campaign than in 2015, but visiting Fredericksburg Christian School dashed those hopes, handing the Kavaliers a 35-0 loss.

The Kavs finished the season with a 4-6 record, much improved over the 0-10 mark of 2015.

Against Fredericksburg Christian, Kenston senior J.E.B. Buchanan led the rushers with 86 yards. The passing game indicated possibilities, but the Eagles pass rush dominated the contest.

Senior linemen, including Smith, Tripp Jones, Thomas Hunter and Cole Hagaman, were given the opportunity of carrying the ball in the final minutes. Smith gained 33 yards on five carries and Hagaman had 18 yard on three attempts.

For the year, Freshman Elijah Warner topped the stats with 1,076 yards, accumulated thorugh passing, running, returning and receiving. Buchanan led ball carriers with 834 yards.
