$100,000 and counting

- The Lunenburg Charity Fund Inc. (LCFI) has presented checks totaling more than $100,000 in gifts since 2007. Celebrating in the accomplishment are, from left, front row, the Rev. The Lunenburg Charity Fund Inc. (LCFI) presented checks Nov. 10 totaling more than $5,000 to seven charitable organizations. The LCFI Board of Directors has already approved an additional $2,000 for the Young Audiences Arts for Learning programs at Kenbridge and Victoria elementary schools. This year’s donations bring LFCI’s total donations to more than $100,000 since it presented the first checks in 2007 after the Kenbridge Wild Game, Stew and Barbeque Cookoff.
These donations are made possible by the ongoing efforts of a dedicated group of volunteers, various fund-raising events and through the generosity of individuals and businesses in Lunenburg County. LCFI’s next sponsored event will be the Bobby “BlackHat” Wallace and His Blues Band concert on Saturday at 7 p.m. in the Kenbridge Town Hall auditorium.
