Central High School drama club members performed at the Regional Theatre Competition on Saturday, at Essex High School in Tappahannock. The students performed the one-act comedy play Check Please, Take 2 by Jonathan Rand and placed fourth out of eight schools. Only the top two schools move on to state competition, but placing fourth in the region is still an exciting result, said school officials. Canisha Kates received an outstanding actress award along with seven other student performers from different schools. The drama club did well during the one-act competition season and look forward to working on their next production, the hit musical Little Shop of Horrors.
