LCPLS welcomes Virginia author

The Lunenburg County Public Library System (LCPLS) will host a book signing on Tuesday, with Lynchburg native Carolyn Tyree Feagans.

Feagans is the author of several popular books with Virginia and North Carolina settings. She describes her writing as “books of hope with stories of faith that are cleverly interwoven with historical information.”

Feagans will sign copies of her books at the Victoria Public Library (VPL) beginning at 10 a.m. and will also appear at the Ripberger Public Library in Kenbridge that afternoon. She will autograph patron copies of her books and will also have editions of her books for sale.

Meanwhile, it wouldn’t be December without a visit from Santa Claus, and he will have a busy schedule in Lunenburg this month. On Saturday, he will appear in the Lunenburg Christmas Parade in Kenbridge and on Thursday, Dec. 8, he will visit the Ripberger Public Library for story time with pre-K and first-graders from Kenbridge Elementary.

On Dec. 10, Santa will be at the Victoria Public Library Community Room as part of the Victoria Small Town Christmas. The library is open from 9 a.m.-noon.

If you are looking for small Christmas gifts or stocking stuffers, check out the books for sale at both branches of LCPLS.

During December, buy one book and get a second free. Hardcovers are 25-cents and paperbacks are 10-cents. Selections include fiction, non-fiction and children’s books.

Do you have a favorite holiday book or movie? Let the LCPLS know on Facebook. Visit its page to see the Staff Picks for December, pictures of the Christmas trees at VPL and new book arrivals.

If you are a student, LCPLS has reduced the print and copy fee to 1 cent per page. You must have a student ID and a valid library card to be eligible. Beginning in December, LCPLS will also offer laminating at the Ripberger branch. The fee will be $1 per page.
