Dennis Willard Bowen

Dennis Willard Bowen, 93, of South Hill, died Thursday December 1, 2016. He was a farmer, logger and a World War ll Army Veteran. Mr. Bowen was recently predeceased by his wife of 71 years, Maggie K. Bowen.

Mr. Bowen is survived by his two sons, David R. Bowen and his wife, Audrey of Boydton and Terry L. Bowen and his wife, Barbara of Kenbridge; his two daughters, Carolyn K. Bishop of Victoria and Denise B. Gilbert and her husband, Paul of South Hill; two daughter-in-laws, Lucille Bowen of Brodnax and Dale Bowen of Kenbridge; ten grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Mr. Bowen was predeceased by two sons, Willard F. Bowen and Ricky L. Bowen and his son-in-law, Bubber Bishop.

A funeral service was conducted on Saturday, December 3 at 11 a.m. in Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home and Crematory with interment in Crestview Memorial Park with full American Legion Post 79 Military Honors. The family received friends Saturday morning from 9 a.m. until service time.
