JANUARY 27

COMMUNITY MEAL, 5-7 p.m., at Kenbridge United Methodist Church, 201 E. 5th Ave., Kenbridge. Meal will consist of soup and sandwiches. Take-outs available after 6:30 p.m. Bring your friends and family and hope to see you there. All are welcome.

JANUARY 28

FREE CLASS, 10 a.m. at the Kenbridge Library. Do you enjoy growing your own vegetables? Want to learn more? Join Linda Logan, Master Gardener, to learn about plant selection, site selection, seed saving and the difference in organic, heirloom, hybrid and GMO seed. Call (434) 738-9692 for more information. The class is open to the public.

JANUARY 29

MESSAGE OF MUSIC, 11 a.m. at Union Grove Baptist Church, 2006 County Line Road, Keysville, followed by a covered dish lunch at noon. Musical guests will be True Spirit from Richmond. All are welcome.

  

FEBRUARY 11

VALENTINE DANCE, at VFW Post 9954. Tickets will be $20 per couple. See any VFW or auxiliary member for tickets.

BENEFIT FUNDRAISER, 6-10 p.m., for the Kenbridge Lions Club. The event will be held at the Kenbridge Town Hall, 511 E. 5th Ave., Kenbridge. Dinner will be served at 7 p.m. Music will be provided by DJ James Boswell, along with drawings and prizes. Contact Thelma at (434) 676-2020 for more information.

FEBRUARY 15

VIRGINIA COOPERATIVE EXTENSION, will host a Southside Commercial Fruit Tree School and Private Pesticide Re-certification on Feb. 15 at the Southern Piedmont Agricultural Research and Extension Center (SPAREC) in Blackstone from 9 a.m.-9 p.m.  Pre-register by Feb. 10, at (434) 645-9315 or email hmccann@vt.edu.
