FEBRUARY 18

BLACK HISTORY PROGRAM, 2 p.m. at White Rock AME Zion Church, 1123 Lew Jones Road, Alberta. There will be various gospel groups and a skit from Johnston Grove Baptist Church of Lawrenceville. Bring your kids and all your family out to this event to learn about our history. Refreshments will be served following the service.

BLACK HISTORY PROGRAM, 1 p.m. at New Grove Baptist Church, 32 New Grove Road, Kenbridge. Therbia Parker Sr., of Suffolk, will present his extensive collection of artifacts and memorabilia that he has collected over the years. Everyone is welcome.

FEBRUARY 19

BLACK HISTORY PROGRAM, 3 p.m. sponsored by the Missionary Circle of Union R.Z.U.A. Church, Meredithville. The guest will be Judah featuring Bishop Linwood Swann.  Please dress in African or old attire. An old-fashioned dinner will be served and the public is welcome to attend.

PASTOR’S SIXTH ANNIVERSARY, 3 p.m. at Zion Hill Baptist Church of Victoria, 1197 Burkeville Road, to celebrate Pastor Trava Hawkins. Pastor Vincent Eanes and choir of Lone Oak Baptist Church will render the service. Dinner will be served. The church will also celebrate Black History during the morning worship service at 11 a.m. All are welcome to come out and celebrate.

BLACK HISTORY PROGRAM, Rosebud Baptist Church, 249 Gigg Road, Dundas, will present a program on Sunday, Feb. 19 after the 11 a.m. worship service. Recording artist John Hill will be master of ceremonies. Plan to attend with family and friends. Light refreshments will be served before the program.

CHARLOTTE COUNTY GRAVES SONS OF CONFEDERATE VETERANS, 6:30 p.m. at Sheldon’s Restaurant in Keysville. The meeting will begin with a “Dutch Treat” meal at 6:30 p.m., followed by a short business meeting and program. The program for meeting will start about 7 p.m. Anyone who has an interest in the history of the South and The War Between the States is welcome. Any potential new members who are male descendants of Confederate Veterans and are also interested in studying and preserving the history and heritage of the South are also welcome at meetings of the SCV. 12th ANNUAL WHOLE WOMAN CONFERENCE, at the Clarksville Community Center. Jane Lyon, the conference worship leader, invites all women to come aside and experience the life-changing love of Christ. A MUSICAL, 3 p.m. at the Concord Baptist Church of Chase City, presented by The Blackstone Community Chorus in a musical entitled “The Old Fashion.” This musical will depict the plight of African Americans from slavery as they labored in the tobacco and cotton fields to the present time. Also, the musical show how the African Americans worshipped in secrecy in a Bush Arbor in the woods. This musical will climax with spirituals and modern day gospels composed by famous African Americans. The Rev. Raleigh Bagley and the members of the Concord Baptist Church welcome the community to worship with them as this epic tale of Black History is portrayed in song and dramatization.
