The Southside Youth Development Corporation (SYDC) re-elected its officers at its recent meeting on Jan. 17.

According to a press release, the following were re-elected: President Rev. Dr. Herman Lundy, Vice President Rev. Waverly E. Brown Sr., Secretary Barbara Shell, Treasurer Claudette Traynham, and Assistant Treasurer Melissa H. Hymon.

“These officers were elected to serve the two-year period 2017-18,” officials said in a press release. “SYDC meets monthly on the third Tuesday at its headquarters building at the corner of Route 47 and Whittles Mill Road at 6:30 p.m. New members are solicited and urged to call Lundy at (434) 774-7511. A summer camp is being planned.
