Northern Virginia native Morgan White has been hired as a staff writer and photographer for The Kenbridge-Victoria Dispatch and Farmville Newsmedia LLC.

White, originally from Fredericksburg, brings experience working as a reporter for the Northern Neck News in Warsaw, a sports assistant at The Free Lance-Star in Fredericksburg and as the opinion editor for the Virginia Commonwealth University’s independent student newspaper, The Commonwealth Times.

“It’s an honor to join The Dispatch’s team,” White said.

White said although he’s new to the area, he’s already fond of the Heart of Virginia.
“I’m definitely looking forward to getting out and exploring Lunenburg and the surrounding areas during work and on my time off,” White said. “I hear there’s a lot of history in the area and I’d like to dive into that and learn more about it.”

“Morgan is a great addition to our news team,” said Dispatch Managing Editor Jordan Miles. “Our readers and members of this community can expect to see him out and about covering events, meetings and other newsworthy events.”

White’s education at VCU led him to cover the 2015 General Assembly session through Capital News Service, a class that serves as a wire service to smaller papers throughout Virginia in order to provide content regarding the state legislature.

White can be reached by phone at (434) 808-0617 or email at Morgan.White@KVDispatch.com.
