An accident Aug. 30 at Chapel Road and Route 40 in Lunenburg County claimed the life of a 35-year-old Kenbridge man, according to Virginia State Police (VSP) Public Relations Director Corinne Geller.

She said Christopher L. Neblett was driving west on Route 40 in a 2002 Chrysler 300 when the vehicle crossed the centerline and struck head-on an eastbound tractor-trailer.

Neblett was not wearing a seatbelt.

Geller said police responded to the crash at 8:54 a.m.

Neblett died at the scene.

Geller said the tractor-trailer driver was not injured in the crash.

“The investigation remains ongoing at this time,” Geller said.
