Goochland High School’s basketball teams helped make the beginning of the season a challenging one for Central High School.

On Dec. 5, Goochland swept Central’s varsity boys, varsity girls and junior varsity (JV) girls teams.

The host varsity Bulldogs defeated the varsity Chargers 64-34, while the visiting varsity Lady Bulldogs won 53-12 against the Lady Chargers. Goochland’s JV girls team won 32-15 at Central.

Over the weekend, inclement weather adjusted Central’s basketball schedule, postponing to Wednesday the games originally set for Friday.

Central returns to action Tuesday. At 5:30 p.m., the JV girls team hosts Cumberland, and the JV boys team visits Cumberland. At 7 p.m., the varsity girls host Cumberland County High School, and the varsity boys visit Cumberland.
