A 33-year-old Blackstone man was arrested Jan. 29 on a rape and abduction charge.

According to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office, charges against Dustin Daniel stem from a woman’s complaint filed with the Nottoway County Sheriff’s Office, stating that she’d been abducted and sexually assaulted Oct. 1, 2017.

Police said the incident occurred on a logging road off of West Point Stevens Road in Charlotte County. Daniel will be on trial in Charlotte County General District Court on April 12.

“Evidence has been submitted to the forensics science lab for analysis on the assault,” police said.
