Kenston Forest School’s varsity girls basketball team entered the Virginia Colonial Conference (VCC) tournament Monday after ending the regular season on a seven-game losing skid, but the Lady Kavaliers put that behind them during their quarterfinal road contest in Chesterfield.

The Lady Kavs defeated host Richmond Christian School 48-42 to advance to the VCC tournament semifinals.

Kenston Forest led 25-21 at halftime and and 40-31 after three quarters leading up to its victory.

Senior Indigo Dougherty led the Lady Kavs with 19 points, and freshman Molly Epperson added 14.

Kenston Forest (8-16) faces Banner Christian School in the semifinals Thursday at 3 p.m. at Richard Bland College.
