Central High School’s junior varsity (JV) baseball team has struggled against different James River District opponents after opening its 2018 season with a 15-5 home win over Buckingham.

Last week, the Chargers fell 10-0 to host Goochland on Friday and 9-5 to host Amelia on April 10.

Prior to that, Central also lost 19-2 to visiting Prince Edward on March 29 and 11-9 visiting Randolph-Henry on March 27.

The Chargers’ roster features six sophomores, five freshmen and two eighth-graders this year, and the team is led by Head Coach Michael Justice.

After hosting Nottoway on Tuesday at 5 p.m., Central hosts Goochland on Thursday. First pitch for that contest is also set for 5 p.m.
