A date to reschedule the Victoria Fire & Rescue Truck and Tractor Pull has not yet been announced, Fire & Rescue Chief Rodney Newton said Monday.

The Truck & Tractor pull, which raises funds for the department and features various tractors, trucks and other vehicles at Victoria Railroad Park, was cancelled Saturday due to heavy rain.

Newton said the sanctioning body, or organization overseeing the event, Dragon Motorsports, is working with the town to look at potentially rescheduling the event.

Five truck classes and two tractor classes were scheduled for the truck and tractor pull.

Newton said the department has gained a net profit of more than $25,000 from the two truck and tractor pulls held in 2017, one in June and the other in October. He also estimated that approximately 1,200 spectators attended each tractor pull.

“The truck and tractor pull is a huge event for Victoria Fire and Rescue,” Newton said.
