Letting go and letting God

How many of us are stuck in the past, concentrating on what someone did to us five, 10 or 15 years ago versus thanking God for the blessings we have today?

When people do us wrong it’s not easy to shake it off, even if the wrong took place a long time ago. We hold on to the hurt because like the saying goes, “What one person feels is written in sand, another person feels it is written in stone.” The words or deeds that were written in stone can damage a person to the core. Psalm 147:3, NIV says, “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”

God has given you His word that He will heal you, but in order for that to happen you have to trust Him and give your pain and suffering over to Him. His grace is sufficient to carry you through. I’m not saying it is easy to release hurt, I am saying the longer you keep it, the more hurt you become.

Let God wrap you in His loving arms and show you the way out of your despair. Life is full of hardships and we all have had our share. Pain and even heartache are facts of life; we all will go through it. If you haven’t experienced it yet, just live a little longer because it is coming. But the blessed thing about life is just keep holding on and just keep living, God will not only bring you out of your situation, He will make you stronger than you were when you went in.

Holding on to pain allows it to fester and swell, almost like choking on a dry piece of meat. But God said that He came that we may have life, and that we may have it more abundantly. Shake off your shroud and lift your head toward the hills for whence cometh your help. You are stronger than you think and loved more than you know. Be bless in Jesus’ name.
