An annual event meant to highlight the services from area law enforcement and emergency services representatives is set to take place Tuesday, Aug. 7, at Victoria Railroad Park.

The 4th annual National Night Out is set from 5-7 p.m. at the park. The Lunenburg event is co-hosted by the Victim Services Unit from the Virginia Department of Corrections and the Lunenburg County Victim Witness Assistance Program.

The event, according to a flyer and a representative from BLISS of Lunenburg, will allow participants to meet officials from Lunenburg County Sheriff’s Office, members of the Victoria and Kenbridge police departments, Victoria Fire & Rescue and Virginia State Police troopers.

Social clubs Klassy Divas and HiWay Ballaz will give away school supplies during the event. Virginia State Police will also offer a bomb truck demonstration.

Participants can look forward to a book giveaway from BLISS of Lunenburg, a watermelon eating contest, free blood pressure checks and an appearance from the Central High School band.
