VA DAR District III meeting held

William Taylor Chapter members assembled early on Aug. 4, at Fuqua School in Farmville to serve as hostesses for the Virginia Daughters of the American Revolution’s (DAR) District III annual meeting. Members served as greeters, at the registration table and circulated during the meeting to be sure everything went smoothly for attendees. With 13 members present from William Taylor, the chapter was recognized for having the largest delegation in attendance. Also present were the representatives of distinction: State officers in attendance, Milly Casey; State Chaplain; three former District III Directors: Nancy Avery, Milly Casey and Nancy Turner; Current District III Chaplain, Shelia Amos; Newly elected District III Secretary for 2019-2021, Merny Erby, who was also in charge of hostesses for the event; Former William Taylor regents Nancy Avery, Nancy Turner, Milly Casey, Jean Overman, Susie Wolf and Shelia Amos; Director of DAR Chorus at State Convention, Nancy Turner; Coordinator of William Taylor’s contribution to State Regent’s project at Montpelier, Fran Towberman; active hostesses on duty, Diane Daniel, Sharon Riddle, Diane Clark, Shelia Amos, Susie Wolf and Linda Bagley; and recipient of award for 100 percent submission of chapter articles to District III’s quarterly newsletter Anne Hamlett.
