Pillowcase dress project

The women of Victoria Christian Church, along with a group of teenagers, are turning pillowcases into dresses for little girls. The dresses will be sent to an orphanage in Mexico served by missionary Anne Judd, a member of Kenbridge Christian Church, who works with YUGO Ministries.
The seamstresses meet Monday mornings at 9:30 a.m. in the church fellowship hall and work until about noon. Some cut out patterns, others sew, some keep order in supplies and materials. All enjoy the fellowship.
Want to assist with this project? All you need is a desire to help, along with needle, thread, and/or scissors. If you have a portable sewing machine, even better. There is plenty of lace, rickrack and buttons available for adding details to the dresses. Donations of pillowcases are always welcome.
This project will continue until all the pillowcases are finished. So far 12 dresses have been completed. Anyone who wishes to stop by is welcome to join the group. For more information, contact Betty Cox at (434) 696-2093.
