KFS hosts the Association of Virginia Academies Arts Festival

Kenston Forest School (KFS) hosted the Association of Virginia Academies Arts Festival Nov. 14. Students from Isle of Wight Academy, Tidewater Academy, Brunswick Academy, Southampton Academy and Amelia Academy attended workshops focused on “Careers in the Arts.” This event was organized by Dr. Ruth Ann Horn and Allison Jones. Special guests leading the workshops: Theater- Douglas Wright, Colonial Theater of South Hill; Music – Buster Freeze, professional musician, actor and singer; Dance – Michelle Harris and Alicia Washburn, owners and choreographers of Dance It Out studios in LaCrosse; Culinary – Bryn Montgomery, semifinalist on Food Network’s Kids Baking Championship; Photography – Amanda Calhoun, professional photographer and owner of Tiny Blessings Photography; and Gaming – Jason Buchanan, KFS Director of Technology.
