An outstanding 2019 season for the Lunenburg Middle School (LMC) Blue Devils softball team came to a close Monday at Bluestone with a 9-7 loss in the conference semifinals.

After finishing the regular season at 8-2 in the conference, the Blue Devils ended up with a 9-3 record over all.

Tony Matthews noted that Monday’s game was one that offered explosive offense and steady defensive action the entire time. Hard-hitting captains Kennedy Moody and Regan Harris helped lead the squad, with Tristan Buchanan, Alyssa Inzeo, Cayley Stokes and Ellie Anderson all adding timely hits and RBIs to help add to the score. Buchanan pitched the whole game and kept the Bluestone squad in check, backed up by some solid defense and even a few ESPN-worthy plays.
