May Day king and queen crowned

Kenston Forest School (KFS) hosted its annual May Day program at KFS on Saturday, May 4. The May Day Court comprised of the KFS seventh-graders were presented and the May Day king and queen were announced. Paul Zanowski, KFS Headmaster, and Charles Butts, KFS Chairman of the Lunenburg-Nottoway Educational Foundation, crowned Kirsten McKinnley Jackson, daughter of Frankie and Stephanie Jackson of Crewe and Robert Thomas Hawthorne, son of Robert and Nicole Hawthorne of Lunenburg. Kindergartner Samuel Knight, son of Josh and Kaitlin Knight of Crewe, served as the crown bearer. Students from grades Pre K 3 through sixth performed dances directed by Dawn Wilhelm, KFS Music Instructor. After the program the Kenston Parents Association directed the carnival and games.
