The July Jubilee, scheduled for Thursday, July 4, has a number of new features this year.

Two will include soccer and basketball tournaments. The basketball tournament is scheduled to take place inside of the Kenbridge Gymnasium and will be hosted by Joyce Freeman. The soccer tournament is scheduled to take place at the Kenbridge Town Field and will be sponsored by the Turning Point Healing Retreat Center. It will be teams of three. The players are expected to be between 8-10 years old.

There will also be vendors present and a series of children’s activities that include tug of war, potato sack race, a 3-legged race and an egg race.

“The committee has been meeting regularly,” Kenbridge Town Manager Robyn Fowler said. She said the committee has an agenda and schedule that is subject to change.

The parade is sponsored by the Lunenburg Chamber of Commerce. The Jubilee is sponsored by the Town of Kenbridge.

The parade is set to begin at 9 a.m. in the town. “It is not too late if people want to be in the parade or in the jubilee,” Fowler said. “We would love to see kids on decorated bikes, wagons, etc. in the parade!”
