Shirley Hood Ashworth Francis, 86 of Victoria, joined her family in Heaven on Aug. 17. She was the wife of the late Hugh Franklin Ashworth; daughter of the late Matthews Thorborn Hood and Lela Hood; sister of the late Clyde, Robert, Thorborn Jr., Kenneth, Floyd, Clifford, Edith Murray, Lois Skelton and Evelyn Weir and grandmother of the late, Jamie Long and Jodi Ashworth.

She is survived by her sons, Eugene (Kathy), Carl (Rachael), Eddie (Sharon) and Roger (Marion); six grandchildren, Holly Ashworth, Damon Ashworth (Erika), Nicole Johns (Ryan), Dalton Ashworth, Logan Ashworth and Brandi Lloyd; three great-grandchildren; her sister, Jeanette H. Tomlinson and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Shirley dearly loved her family, her church and her church family.

She enjoyed going out to listen to music and going out to eat.

She was a dedicated and faithful member of Northside Gospel Chapel, 2300 Marshall Avenue, Victoria, where the family received friends Monday, Aug. 22 from 1 p.m. until start of services at 2 p.m.. Interment was in the Lakeview Cemetery, Victoria.
