Lightning edges Brunswick, 34-33

The Lunenburg Lightning flag football team traveled to Brunswick for its season finale and returned home with a 34-33 win Saturday.

The Lightning defense, led by Jordan Kiser and Chad Mattox, tried to slow down the Bulls from the beginning but Brunswick scored five touchdowns during the game.

However, with every score the Lightning offense would answer behind the blocking of Paige “Ice Box” Mattox and Caleb “Lil Bit” Word.

Quarterback Chad Mattox scored four touchdowns, while running back Logan Hall added one.

As time expired, Chad Mattox raced across the end zone to tie the game 33-33.

He then managed to score the extra point with push the Lighting past Brunswick winning the game.

With the win, the Lightning finishes up its regular season on a high note, fun memories and good friends made.
