Bessie Epps-Vinson, age 91, departed this life on October 30, 2015. She was born in Victoria, VA at the family home on Tidewater Ave. to the late Landon and Jennie Mae Jennings Epps.

Bessie was preceded in death by her husband Rudolph V. Vinson.

Upon her retirement from St. Vincent Hospital in Harrison, NY, of 23 years, she returned to Victoria, VA where she joined the First Baptist Church.

She leaves to mourn her passing, two sons, Ronald Vinson and Michael Vinson of White Plains, NY and a son-in-law, Lenton Alston, Jr. of Victoria, VA; she leaves daughters, Judy Vinson-Anderson of Corona, CA, Brenda Vinson of White Plains, NY, Tina Vinson of Victoria, VA and Bonnie Vinson-Alston of Victoria, VA; grandsons, Delvon, Jay Michael, Michael, Jr., Lenton III, and Gerald; granddaughters, Kecia, Tierre, Tammy, Kera, Tosha, Shunta, Michelle, and Tenay; eighteen great-grandchildren, three sisters, Frances, Juanita (Al) and Barbara (Lawrence), brother George, and a host of family and friends.

A wake will be held Friday, November 6, 2015 from 7-9 p.m. at Charles Thomas Funeral Home, Kenbridge, VA. Services will be held at First Baptist Church, Victoria, VA on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 1:00 p.m.
