Nathan Vaughan, 20, of Lunenburg, killed a 270-pound male black bear while hunting recently in the Bagley’s Mill area of Lunenburg County. Vaughan said he was in a thicket and didn’t see the bear unitl it was 10 steps away. This was Vaughan’s first bear that he has killed. “It was a little too close for comfort,” he said. Vaughan used his .270 rifle to kill the bear.
