A portion of Lunenburg County’s Lee Mill Road (Route 631) and its approaches over the Middle Meherrin River will be closed until Aug. 24 for bridge repair, the Virginia Department of Transportation announced recently.

The road will be closed to all through traffic from 0.612 miles east of Route 694 to 2.072 miles west or Route 622, the state’s department of transportation said in a press release.

Instead, traffic is to use the detour of Ontario Road (Route 622) to Courthouse Road (Route 49) to Sheltons Road (Route 694.)

“On behalf of the Virginia Department of Transportation, we apologize in advance for any inconvenience,” the release said.
