Staunton River State Park will hold a Star Party Public Night on March 12, from 8-11 p.m.

The even will be held at the event center at no charge. Children are welcome to attend with a chaperon.

The park is a certified International Dark-Sky Association park. After checking in at the Visitor Center, participants will be escorted by a staff member onto the Observation Field, where seasoned astronomers will have telescopes tracking different celestial objects.

Astronomers will help participants study the night sky and identify stars, planets, galaxies and constellations.
