Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) general sign-up 49 will be ending on Friday. CRP is a land conservation program administered by the Farm Service Agency (FSA).

In exchange for a yearly rental payment, farmers enrolled in the program agree to remove environmentally sensitive land from agricultural production and plant species that will improve environmental health and quality, according to a press release.

“ARCPLC sign-up is underway for 2016. Avoid missing out on program payments. Call the office to make your appointment to sign the 2016 contract. Sign-up for ARCPLC ends on Aug. 1,” the release said.

“FSA reminds farmers to contact the office anytime you lose any livestock due to a natural weather event. Through the LIP program, producers may be eligible for compensation for livestock lost due to qualifying weather events. Notice of loss must be submitted to the county office no later than 30 calendar days of when the loss is apparent.”

FSA is cleaning up its producer record database. If you have any unreported changes, they need to be reported to our office. Changes in your farm operation, like the addition of a farm by lease or purchase, address changes, bank account changes, all need to be reported to the office. Producers participating in FSA and NRCS programs are required to timely report changes in their farming operation to the County Committee in writing and update their CCC-902 Farm Operating Plan.
