Victoria man injured in Route 40 crash

Virginia State Police is investigating a single-car crash in Lunenburg County that sent a Victoria man to the hospital with serious injuries.

Trooper W.T. Dean is investigating the crash that occurred on Route 40 at 9:27 p.m. on Thursday, said a report provided by Corinne N. Geller, the state police’s public relations director. The crash was less than a mile west of Route 688. Aaron N. White, 33, was traveling west on Route 40 in his 1998 Ford Explorer when it crossed the center line, ran off the left side of the highway and struck two trees, the report said. White was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of serious injuries. He was wearing a seat belt.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.
