Lunenburg Middle School places third at forensics competition

The annual Middle School Forensics Competition was held at Lunenburg Middle School recently. Middle school students from 11 area schools competed in the categories of poetry, drama, demonstration, extemporaneous, debate and prose.

Emily Zuniga-Leon, seventh-grader, won first place in poetry. Julie Ginn, eighth-grader, won third place in demonstration. Lunenburg Middle School won third place overall in the competition.

“Congratulations and thanks also go to Mrs. Brenda Wade, who coordinated the entire annual Middle School Forensics Competition, and to Mrs. Cynthia Wray, the LMS Forensics coach,” stated a release from the school.

Schools that competed in the competition were Amelia Middle School, E.W. Wyatt Middle School, Russell Middle School, Park View Middle School, Bluestone Middle School, Halifax Middle School, Central Middle School, Prince Edward Middle School, Nottoway Middle School, Powhatan Middle School and Lunenburg Middle School.
