Eight-year-old Parker Hite, of Kenbridge, shot an impressive 45 after nine holes of golf last week at Mecklenburg Country Club in Chase City to win first place in an event for 7- to 9-year-old boys. He also shot the lowest score of the morning for 7- to 11-year-olds and the longest drive. Parker is the son of Richard and Mindy Hite, of Kenbridge.
