Autumn Days is Oct. 8

Victoria’s 36th annual Autumn Days event, will be held on Saturday, Oct. 8.

This year, the community will not only get to enjoy last year’s festivities but will also have the chance to participate in a horseshoe and cornhole tournament, which is being sponsored by the Queens’ Knights Riding Club.

The day will begin with a fan favorite, the Pet Parade. The parade will begin at 9:45 a.m. at the Victoria Firehouse. For more information on registering for the parade, call (434) 696-2455.

A lawn mower drag race, truck/tractor pull and Teresa Matthews 5K will take place during the day. Victoria Fire & Rescue will sponsor the truck/tractor pull. Gates will open at 2 p.m., while the pull will begin at 4 p.m.

The Teresa Matthews 5K will begin at 9 a.m. in the Victoria Railroad Park. The race benefits the Matthews/Inzeo family. There will be a 50/50 raffle drawn at 11 a.m. as well. Registration for ages 12 and below is $15, and registration for ages 13 and up is $25. Registration forms are available at Victoria and Kenbridge town offices. Forms can also be obtained by emailing cshrtrdg@gmail.com.

Crafters and vendors will be set up inside the Community Centre and in the Victoria Railroad Park, 1403 Firehouse Road. There will also be a flea market on 6th Street.
