Lunenburg Medical Center adds nurse practitioner

Southern Dominion Health System Inc. (SDHS) provides healthcare services at Lunenburg Medical Center in Victoria. SDHS recently welcomed Debra Collins, N.P., a board certified nurse practitioner, according to a SDHS release.
Collins started off as a licensed practical nurse for three years, and then went to school through Lynchburg General to become a registered nurse, where she continued to work for 19 years. She received her bachelor of science in nursing from Liberty University in Lynchburg, while she continued to work at Centra Health Lynchburg General Hospital.
She then proceeded to VCU School of Nursing for her master’s degree to become a family nurse practitioner.
Collins loves spending time with her husband, five children and seven grandchildren. She resides in Clover.
Southern Dominion Health System operates four Federally Qualified Health Centers in three central Piedmont counties of Virginia. The medical centers in Victoria, Amelia, Emporia and Dinwiddie serve the primary care needs of all patients in the corporation’s service area and saw more than 39,000 patient visits during the 2015 calendar year.
The corporation was first established as the Lunenburg Medical Center in 1984 and has since grown to the five corporate sites serving the primary care needs of the patients in those communities.
