Maggie Karns Bowen, 91, of South Hill, died Friday November 18, 2016 in VCU Community Memorial Hospital. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Bowen is survived by her husband of 71 years, Dennis W. Bowen of South Hill; her two sons, David R. Bowen and his wife, Audrey of Boydton and Terry Lee Bowen and his wife, Barbara of Kenbridge; her two daughters, Carolyn K. Bishop of Victoria and Denise B. Gilbert and her husband, Paul of South Hill; 11 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and two daughters-in-law, Lucille Bowen of Brodnax and Dale Bowen of Kenbridge. Mrs. Bowen was predeceased by two sons, Willard F. Bowen and Ricky L. Bowen and her son-in-law, Bubber Bishop.

A funeral service was conducted on Monday, November 21 at 2 p.m. in Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home and Crematory with interment in Crestview Memorial Park. The family received friends on Sunday evening from 7 until 8:30 at the funeral home.
