The driver of this truck, a Victoria man, and his passenger were transported around noon Saturday to Virginia Commonwealth University Community Memorial Hospital in South Hill, although at least the driver may not have suffered injuries. Virginia State Police (VSP) Trooper T.W. Reeves Jr. responded to the scene in the 7300 block of New Grove Road in Lunenburg County. According to information gathered at the scene by the Dispatch, a woman driving another vehicle was too far over on the road and the truck’s driver had to ride the ditch line to prevent a head-on collision. The woman reportedly did not stop, but was found a short time later. The VSP provided no information on the offending driver or charges filed. Reeves said the pick-up truck driver was not injured, and the incident remains under investigation.
