Kenston Forest varsity girls take 2nd in tourney

The Kenston Forest School varsity girls basketball team fell 60-51 to Richmond Christian School (RCS) on Saturday in the championship game of a Christmas tournament hosted by RCS.
“They’re definitely a good team,” Lady Kavaliers Head Coach Jannon Coley said. “I want to say that we had a really good showing against them.”
Kenston Forest junior Indigo Dougherty had a sensational game, finishing with 26 points, four steals and two assists.
Lady Kavs junior Josie Epperson added eight points and four rebounds, senior Savannah Gunn had seven points, six boards and four assists and senior Mackenzie Coley recorded six points, six rebounds and three assists.
To reach the championship game, Kenston Forest defeated Millwood School 37-25 on Friday.
The Lady Kavaliers outscored Millwood in the first, third and fourth quarters and used a box-and-one defense to limit its biggest offensive threat to nine points.
Gunn contributed 13 points, 10 rebounds and four assists, and Epperson and Dougherty scored nine points apiece.
Kenston Forest (6-3) hosts Temple Christian School on Thursday, Dec. 29, at 5 p.m.
