Informational meeting set for Jan. 5

The Commonwealth Regional Council (CRC) has completed the draft of its update of the Regional Hazard Mitigation Plan for the counties of Amelia, Buckingham, Charlotte, Lunenburg, Nottoway and Prince Edward, and the town of Farmville, and it would like to hear from the public.

A public informational meeting will be held as part of the CRC’s Monthly council meeting on Thursday, Jan. 5. The council meeting will begin at noon at the council office. CRC staff will make a presentation on the plan update process, and will take any questions from the public.

A draft of the plan will be available for public review and comment in January. The draft plan can be accessed from the CRC website at http://www.virginiasheartland.org/about-us/publications/, and copies will be available at the following libraries for public review from through Jan. 25: Farmville-Prince Edward Community Library; Buckingham Branch Library, Dillwyn; James L. Hamner Public Library, Amelia Court House; Charlotte County Library — Main Branch, Charlotte Court House; Charlotte County Library — Keysville Branch; Ripberger Public Library, Kenbridge; Victoria Public Library, Victoria; Blackstone Library; Burkeville Library and Crewe Library.
