Rites held for Alice Idell Fierce Parker

Alice Idell Fierce Parker, 99, of Victoria, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at Granville Medical Center, Oxford, NC. Mrs. Parker was born in Rehoboth on August 8, 1917 to the late Samuel A. and Alice B. Hayes Fierce. She was a 1938 graduate of Lunenburg County Training School and a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Victoria. Mrs. Parker was a retired Procurement Supervisor for Long Island Development Center, Melville, NY.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Parker was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Parker, three sons, Leon Hayes Parker, Robert Lowery Parker Jr. and William Neal Parker, one granddaughter, Debra Parker MaCraney and nine siblings.
Cherishing her memories are two daughters, Anita Ballard-Jones of Henderson, NC and Anna Jackson of Victoria; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Shula F. Davis of Victoria; and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Alice Idell Fierce Parker were conducted 2 p.m., Sunday, January 8, 2017 at Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, with the Rev. William Moore III, officiating. Burial followed in the Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery, Victoria.
